Opening today, November 7th, and running until November 16th, the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair takes over Exhibition Place and brings the farm to the city.
Running for over 90 years, the Royal has hosted world-class equestrian events as well as the finest agricultural displays, vendors, and fair competitions from across Ontario since 1922. Lodged in the exhibit halls of the Direct Energy Centre, the Cattle Barn and its annexes with the Royal Horse Show in the Ricoh Coliseum, the annual fair features livestock displays and educational exhibitions, competitions and auctions, animal performances, and equestrian and artisanal vendors galore.
In addition to the Winter Fair’s long tradition of showcasing the excellence of Ontario farming and the best of worldwide equestrian pursuit, the Royal is increasingly becoming a must-visit for culinary enthusiasts. Its food court expands each year to include more exciting food stalls, fine dining and spirits are available at the Royal Court Restaurant onsite near the Coliseum, and the Food and Lifestyle Stage at this year’s Fair will host internationally-renowned chefs and culinary names for cooking competitions and demonstrations.
The Royal Horse Show is perennially the big draw of the Winter Fair. Show jumping, dressage, and various other equestrian and rodeo competitions are held throughout the 10-day period of the Royal. Check out the schedule for the horse ring at Ricoh Coliseum to find out when the major equestrian events take place.
