The 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup will hold games in Montreal, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Moncton, and Vancouver, which will host the final on July 5th. Tickets are still available for many matches. See the official site of the Women’s World Cup for particulars.
Grand Prix Montreal
Held annually since 1961 and exclusively in Montreal since 1978, the Grand Prix is one of the city’s biggest yearly summer events. A key race on the Formula One Championship since its first decade of existence, the Grand Prix Montreal (also called the Canadian Grand Prix or Grand Prix du Canada) is staged on Ile Notre-Dame on a circuit track named for the late Quebecois racing great Gilles Villeneuve, who won the 1978 race in Montreal (the only Canadian driver to do so to date). Held in 2015 on June 5th, 6th, and 7th, the Grand Prix Montreal attracts over a hundred thousand live spectators and commands a huge international audience for its Formula One GP. Tickets can be hard to come by and accommodations and transportation in Montreal is frequently booked weeks in advance, but check out the official website for more information.
The Honda Indy Toronto
Held in and around Toronto’s Exhibition Place since 1986, the Honda Indy Toronto is the sole Canadian stop on the IndyCar Series and is currently the 2nd longest-running street race on the annual competition circuit. Attracting tens of thousands of racing fans each year, the Honda Indy Toronto has featured some of the most prominent names in international auto racing over the years. The event includes a festival site at trackside that is extremely popular every year with spectators, featuring activities, food, and beverages.
