With the hotel quarantine requirements for travelers arriving at Pearson International airport, many people are choosing to land in Buffalo and be driven directly home to quarantine there.

The same requirements for entry apply to both Canadian and non-Canadian citizens. Canadians get automatic entry with the usual identification, and non-Canadians must have a valid reason for entry including supporting documentation.

Additionally, a negative test result within 72hrs of arrival at the border must be presented. Please note, the test must have been done in the U.S.

At the border, passengers are given two Covid test kits by the Red Cross. The ARRIVECAN app must be downloaded to enter your information, and the first test is to be done in front of them to ensure proper use (this does add about 30-45 min at the border), and the second one is done at home 8 days later. The kits are then picked up by courier to be taken to the lab for results.

An executive sedan from BUF to Toronto is $435 plus gratuity and HST. If you require an SUV, the rate is $545 plus gratuity and HST. Additional charges are parking, tolls (approx. $7), and any additional wait time at the border. All rates are in CAD.
