Updates on Continuing Maintenance Closures on Gardiner Expressway and Lakeshore Boulevard This Week

Please note that this coming week, May 5th through 9th, 2014, maintenance closures continue on both the Gardiner Expressway and Lakeshore Boulevard.

As described last weekend, median reconstruction continues both directions on the Gardiner between Ellis Avenue and Dufferin Street as well as between Park Lawn Road and the Humber River. Our drivers and dispatchers report that travel times along the Gardiner into and out of the downtown core were increased by 15-30 minutes this past week due to these lane reductions, sometimes more in peak traffic hours. Please keep these delays when planning and reserving your chauffeured transporation and leave yourself extra time to reach Pearson Airport or other time-sensitive destinations.

In addition to this maintenance work, two lanes of the eastbound Lakeshore Boulevard will be occupied for interim repairs and therefore closed from Jarvis Street to the Don Roadway. The Jarvis on-ramp to the eastbound Gardiner is also closed for these repairs, expected to last until at least the end of May. Also watch for a lane reduction on the eastbound Lakeshore at Park Lawn, near the same stretch of Gardiner lane reduction. More construction and maintenance work is scheduled there on May 6th, 7th and 8th between the hours of 10 am and 3:30 pm, thus avoiding closure during rush hours.
